Fuzz Ball!!

If your friends are asking if your finger got in the way while you were plugging in the hair dryer, we have some advice for you!

What can you do?

The first thing to do is recognize that frizz has a lot of causes. Mary says you have to keep it real with the right products from start to finish. The most frizz? Curly Blonde hair. The least? Straight dark hair. So, if you lean towards more frizz trick your hair! Blond hair, especially if it is fine, needs more protein from shampoo and conditioner. Mary says eat all the carbs you want and put the protein in your hair!

What does she use? Right now Mary's using the Vitamino Color line from L'Oreal. It is chock full of Protein and the conditioning mask does a great job of smoothing out the cuticle of the hair... Straight dark hair has a smoother cuticle... so, it's shinier and less frizzy.

The other end of the process is important as well. Finishing product can cure those escapees from your perfectly coiffed locks. Again we turn to Mary for her current secrets. She says that when her hair is naturally curly she uses Control Freak from Tigi's Bed Head line. She spreads it from root to end and then grabs chunks of hair and twists them up before letting it air dry. It takes her cotton candy head back to the spiraled texture she is looking for! Now, when her hair is naturally straight (Mary's hair is always natural... no matter what it looks like. Don't ask!) Mary gives it a quick stretch with her big round brush, after warming it up with the blow dryer, to smooth it out. Straight or curly hair should be mostly dry before you start the round brushing. She does this after applying the same Control Freak from root to end to her wet hair. Ironic that she should be so in love with a product called control freak... redundant, really.

These tips should help you get your head of frizz tamed down and ready for town... Wow! That was awful! Your hair is guaranteed to be better than the writing here at Hair P.S.
